MIXER January '09: Kanye West

It's the Entertainer of the Year issue!

In this 2009 issue, it marks Mixer departure to more sophisticated direction and more artsy. It's has more entertainment aspects than it used to had. Also, the new fonts and stuff.

I put Kanye West on the cover, because he has everything a rock star should has: talent, style and controversy. When u hear his name, u think about arrogant. He's arrogant, but he can back it all up! He also has a kick-ass album 808s & Heartbreak which I listen to everyday! Enjoy -D

Whiteout

It's snowing!

I've been kinda anticipating this to happen.. although i'm not really like the concept of snow. It's hard, it's too white and it's cold. I hate cold. I'm Indonesian.. of course we're hot people (although the real meaning of that sentence is not what you think it is).

The snow also marks the start of the holiday season! Oh, after the endless assignments and exams and the final exam (which i doubt i did good).. it's about time!

I do want to go home for Christmas, but the situation ain't really pretty at this time. As much I miss home, fams, friends and of course pups, I don't wanna spend too much money on something that I can prevent. I'm a person who better spend money on much better time with even better reason (e.g. summer 2009 holiday, after spending 1,5 years here). But it depends on my dad. I hate the concept that I have to stay 4 years here, just to match 4 years college requirements. At times, I wish I wasn't here. But.. sigh. don't care about it. Let see..

So.. it's weekend.. and I wanna have fun. see ya tomorrow! :D

Game On, Snow Cone

Today was very very cold. It's insanely cold (at 15 F, it was a dead sentence to me). This morning, I haven't slept for like, 24 hrs.. and It was hellish for me. I came to class on time (the first time since last fall) and.. missed an important class on the latter, cuz I accidentally slept the day away. I slept at 12.30 pm and woke up at 4.30!!! and! I continued until 10 pm! It was devastating to found out that U've missed the most important class, i think, this semester.

To add more 'joy', my toilet was stuck. I wanna poo, pee and all that jazz.. and I couldn't. Yay! and now, while waiting for it, Im gonna do my painting assignment (which class I missed last Thu. Ha!). Patheticness.

So.. to comfort myself (and a reminder), I wanna publish my annual list of what's hot in a year (check my 2007 Hot List!) and I think it represent what's best in entertainment or anything else (that I like). also.. MIXER magazine!

So.. guys, prepare yourself for the Holidays! :D

Pretty Amazing Week

Thanksgiving Holiday. Britney's Comeback. Gucci (we talk about it later). Sounds great huh?

To me, this early December pretty smashin'. I really enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday (and extra) and a new pair of shoes don't hurt either. It's hi-top sneaker, white, and cool as shit! :D. It's Gucci and it's sale. I really saving up this whole year for a nice pair of high sneakers: a substitute for boots cuz boots look funny on me.

These couple of months I'm ADDICTED to TV! I dk why.. but the shows are got me engaged! despite the crappy reviews and ratings, I still love me some Top Model, Paris BFF etc. Overall, TV rocks. LOL. (Tonite, there's gonna be Victoria Secret Show and Grammy Nominations Live! psyched!).

But there's still a lil suck-part: School. God, the exams.. the projects... those starting to gettin on me.

O well, enuf for the updates.. see ya soon! D

O, Recession

This year's recession was the true reason why 2008 isn't the shiniest year. It's hard for me to shop! LOL. I know it's a selfish thing but, it's kinda my natural calling - just can't help it. Yesterday, I just bought 5 magazines! (yes, some of em are for my Fashion Illustration class) and a perfume the other day.

It's really sad, cuz now it affects my hometown's economy, 1 USD = 12000. That one's hurt. It really affects the budget, all the basic needs. For me, it screams "CRAP". I just hate it. Whoever made this happen, is not rest in peace. OK, that was a bit harsh.

Anyway, today, I'm heading to New York, to shop for Black Friday. I don't feel like shopping to be perfectly honest, but! the sales kinda inviting. So let's hoping for the best sales from the best brands. Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Shopping

Sleep Or No Sleep

I have quite a dilemma, since beginning of this year. It's a sleeping dilemma. I'm not a morning person - obviously, I'm a good all-nighter. I can stay as late as 7 AM or more. But! here's the deal; I have to have a sleeping time afterward.

I always hate it when I have to be in this position: when it's too early to stay awake, but too late to sleep. Usually around 3-4 AM. Today I slept at 3.30-ish AM, and I done dat on the wrong day of school! (on Tuesday and Thursday, I have 8 AM classes). So.. I woke up at 8.19 AM! perfect. Thank God today's class is about watching 'Good Will Hunting'. I was kinda 'saved', but left me wonder, how bout those two classes that I skipped due to my illness?

Anyway, that's my problem to this day. I love sleep late and hate wake up early, and if I have to, I would make my wake up time as close as humanly possible. Prolly I'm just perfectionist.. or just plain dumb. LOL D

Under The Weather

I'm sick.

I feels very weak for the last couple of days.. starting on Thursday night - Saturday morning. My nose still blocked, my throat still hurt.. and I'm still kinda feverish. Hellish. I skipped two classes, an appointment and now a birthday dinner. I mean, I feel sad but seems no one really care. So I don't care either. I think, the weather's not on my side this time. D

MIXER December '08: Twilight

Another month, another cover. MIXER December features the 'it' movie of the year: Twilight. I Decided to put the stars (Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson) on the cover just because they're ridiculously good looking and! the buzz is undeniable. Twilight got a lot of raves since earlier this year, so, I think they fit the bill for December cover. Enjoy! (D)

ps: It also marks the new logo of MIXER! it's official!

Movies Night

This Veterans Day, I just spent a whole day lazy-ing around and eat. I ate a Korean noodle, banana nut cake, doughnut, fried rice, mee-rob and veggies. I was mad greedy.

Anyway, it's Veteran's Day so I just act the part :p. O yeah, I watched Hellboy 2 & Narnia: Prince of Caspian. These two movies really makes me wonder: where's the magic? Although the CGI effects are kick-ass, I don't see any excitement in the storyline. Despite all of that, I enjoyed watching them and I need that, 'cause last Monday was crappy day. I need to relax.

My class will start in 8 hrs! (Yes, it's 1 AM here) and I need my sleep. Bye! :D

Satisfaction

Yesterday was great!

I ate japanese food (which I crave for the last couple of days), watched a movie ('Role Models', which is funny as hell!) and basically spent the day off fully packed.

I also bought a lot of foods for my house. I bought Banana Nut Cake (moist and tasty), Pastas and more. Plus! I found a blog that could provide my entertainment needs! from albums (yes! Beyonce's newest record and Xtina's!) and TV Shows (Top Model, Ghost Whisperer). I'm satisfied this weekend! I just can't wait for another weekend - D

Fall Records

I really get excited for the musics coming this fall season; from Beyoncé, Christina, Kanye West and yes, Ms. Britney. I feels like a kid in a candy store all over again. I remember when I was still a junior high student, back in 2000 when pop music ruled the earth , I witness those stars grown and became these mega hit makers. So fall 2008's musics are re-live those memories. Below, are the reviews I made about the records that will be released in couple of weeks! (these are the musics I'm excited for!)

CHRISTINA AGUILERA
Keeps Gettin' Better - A Decade of Hits
Out Nov 11.

My favorite artist of all time, hands down. I just love everything she came out with: 'Genie in the Bottle', 'Dirrty', 'Ain't No Other Man' among others. Now, she's about to release a new greatest hits record to celebrate a decade of her career in music. 'Keeps Gettin' Better' is a techno-flavored single to lead the album. But I prefer "Genie 2.0", a reworked of her first single ever. It has Goldfrappy-flavor with a lil' bit of Kylie's kick. Definitely a must buy.

BEYONCE
I Am... Sasha Fierce
Out Nov 18.

I've heard the preview of the double album and it sounds AMAZING. I love subtle, vulnerable Beyonce (I Am...) and! the fierce, sexy Beyonce a.k.a. Sasha Fierce. "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies" are the perfect choice to represent each album. For me, Beyonce can relates to any body and every album of hers is a home-run. Key Tracks: "Halo", "Diva", "Ave Maria", "Single Ladies", "If I Were A Boy".

KANYE WEST
808's & Heartbreak
Out Nov 25

I love 'Love Lockdown'. The first time I heard it on the VMA '08, I was like, I have to have it. So yea, I have it now and it's been on my heavy rotation ever since. I learned that Kanye's new album is not gonna be a rap album; it's gonna be his singing album with auto-tuner. So his voice will be somewhat artificial. I'm really looking forward for this album!

BRITNEY SPEARS
Circus
Out Dec 2.

Britney's Back. She's in a full form (or at least 90% of hers) and ready to rock the music industry once again. "Womanizer" is an OK song for her comeback and also gave Brit a number one hit since 'Baby One More Time'. Despite of all those buzz, the single isn't really fresh or exciting. But her album is one to be watched.

There u have it. Can't wait for those albums! (Beyonce's and Xtina's) D

Eleventh Month

November is officially here. I just can't wait fot the Thanksgiving part, really. LOL

Anyway.. I felt weird today regarding what happened last night. I felt bad tho, but I was just in a bad mood. There's a phrase that "you don't know a friend until u see his or her true color." That's right I guess and that's not a bad thing. If you know their real color, that means they're real. Just sayin.

Anyway it's November! and it mean that I still have 6 months left in Boston! I want to go back to Indo in June 09 so Bad. I want it so bad, i put this on a post! LOL.

oK.. I don't know what to do today, cuz I probably going out with a friend to do some homework or prolly I just go to gym. Whatever. Happy Haloween! :d D

On The Verge of La La Land

I have a lot of things in my mind right now. I'm like one step closer to give up.. but I chose not to. This post is not about to spill the beans.. it's just about a matter of self-expression.

I've been living away from my hometown, my friends and family for 10 months now. It's been a good experience - and actually a life changing one. But I need a break. Although I love this place (to me, Boston is a second home), but I wanna experience a lil bit of my old life. The houses, cars and of course my Jokker + Rockey.

Well.. there's also issues in my life, every now and then. But this time it's personal. For those who knew it already, I've experienced a bad thing last year and now it comes back to haunt me and my fam. I hate the fact that it slowly progressed. I want and instant result. Too bad it's only exist in La La Land.

Anyway, life must go on. Thank God, I have good friends and families that I can count on. Now, I'm happy I expressed my feelings.. accompanied by feel-good songs (LoL). D

Porn 4 Fat Kids

Last night's party was great. Great foods, great people, great fun.. Loves it. There's couple HK friends who's coming to my friends' pad to celebrate the move-in party. Too bad there's no booze around.

But anyway, we played this card game called Circle of Death. It's complicated tho, but it's like, if u take one card, the number on it says the measure on the glass of a drink u should drink. Ok.. i'm messed up. But hopefully u get the point. So basically we have to drinks anything from Coke, Fanta, Milk, Juice, sugar and yes.. salt. You can combine or even just plain drink one ingredients (like salt and water). Terrible. But for me, the rest of em are too sweet haha.

So today... I just bought my favorite candies! ('cuz out of the blue, i just feelin' the Halloween mood). I bought Hersheys kisses - candy corn flavored- and M&M's premium Triple chocolate. It's totally heaven! ha! For me, eating candy is guilty as charged. But can't help it. LOL

Busy Day

Yesterday was crazy day.

I went to school at 9 and got back at 7 p.m.. I was worn out. I felt sick that morning, but decided to go anyway. The result: slept from 9.30 p.m. - 10.30 a.m.

Today, I'm cleaning my apartment, the whole thing! (I'm taking a break right now, cuz I need it). Still upset about the fact that I don't have a lot of time for myself.. but still have to do things anyway. I really wanna go to get my hair cut and gym. so bad.
Maybe tomorrow I'll go to gym.. o don't mention about my homework. I have plenty.

So.. busy day's ahead of me now. D

Ten Minutes Before Class

Ok..

First, off, it's friggin noisy in this comp lab. It's f-ing irritating. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm planning to go back to my apt this afternoon.. but kinda lazy to go back, since there's going to be another class at 3.30 (and I don't want to be late, anymore). It's problematic in a way, 'cause I need to take number two! but I don't wanna take it here, in school. No way.

(Class starting in 5 minutes)

Tonight's gonna be another busy day for me. I need to do sketches like, hundred pages of 'em, the paper for Cause & Effect. Holy crap. I just can't wait.

Alright. Gotta go.
bye! D

ps: I think I'm gonna change the layout. real soon. bye!

Rocktober Chic

I saw the Spring/Summer '09 fashion shows at fashion week early this month (from blogs and sites of course), and I was bit disappointed. Those collections aren't really exciting as last season's collection (which means Fall 08). Gucci? boring. Balenciaga? downgraded. Marc Jacobs? well, okay. I mean not all of those collections are bad, but just not exciting.

So, last season, I picked Balenciaga as my favorite designer (and still is! Fall 08 collection is to die for). This fashion week, I have a winner. It hails from France as well. Balmain is really stood out to me, thanks to the rock-chick couture style. Balmain's last season collection was good tho, but not created buzz enough. This one's no different. But personally, Balmain generated a new trend!

Pierre Balmain was the founder of the house of Balmain. He once hailed as "The King of French fashion", dressing legendary actress such as Ava Gardner. After Balmain's death in '82, his 'right hand' Erik Mortensen stepped in. Oscar De La Renta also once led the house, from 1993-2001. Under Balmain, Mortensen and De La Renta, Balmain was still known for its luxurious style. Now led by Christopher Decarnin, Balmain is now more edgier and sexier than ever.

What do you think? Is there any designer does it better?

Exhaustion

I'm officially tired. I need a looong weekend, for real.

Last Thursday I didn't get enough sleep and had to be awake for staying in school for 9 hours! thanks to design classes, English essay and that damn convocation (which I got a prize!).

Anyway, for the last two days, school just wearing me out. I'm super exhausted. I also need to go to gym in moderation, so I can lose weight and to make my bro's stop buggin' me about the gym routine. whatever.

I also have to confess. I don't use to be an outgoing person, like literally. I don't go out too much. I prefer stay at home, either bored or not. I just love stay at home, sleeping and eating. I don't need to go to movies, shopping (well, sometimes), but my point is.. I don't need to be out all day to be happy. I only need a little place called home. And internet.

So.. yeah. I concluded this week as the most exhausting week since last June! (physically and mentally.)
Ha! D

MIXER November '08: Pink

Pink is the latest star to grace MIXER cover, to celebrate her new upcoming record Funhouse. I like the slim fonts to make it simple and readable. BTW, this is my second attempt for the cover and eventually scrapped the first cover and go with this one. :d Comments! D

Caffeine Fixed

I just finished my Starbucks and I have an hour to kill.
So here i am writing this post. Talking about coffee, u should get non-fat White Chocolate Mocha. It's delicious, fun and smells good. Definitely a good one.

October is here and it's officially cold. I really really need to get use to the cold temp. I used to be in this kind of situation, but apparently my body is still in the summer mode. I still love ice creams, sushi and BBQ. It's definitely summer mode.

By the way, I'm still stuck in school. I have to meet a tutor discussing my assignment. I'm pissed as hell, found out that someone erased my name! from a list! f#$% that beeyotch. ha! I also bummed that I have to go to a friend's house. Not because of the place.. it's the assignments I have. Not cute. I have to stitch bunch of fabrics and stuff. I don't know what to do.

English too! I don't think I can make it today. I'm tired as hell.
Need a sleep for real. D

MIXER 2008

MIXER is back!

yep, my fake magazine cover arts. I've been doing this magazine cover arts since 2002! and as u can see, My last post about MIXER was in December 2007 (Amy Winehouse issue).

And, it's been nine months without MIXER magazine post. So! I'll just post 10 art covers from January to October. I put Kanye, Madonna, Mariah and even Britney on the cover. So.. enjoy!!

The latest issue is the October issue, featuring Zac Efron for the Hollywood Issue.

Aite, I'm out!
See ya
D

Divas Showdown

Last Thursday was hectic. Won't spill a bean but it was hell.
Been through dat. so that's it.

This afternoon, I ate sushi for lunch and took a looong nap after that. I loved it! I've been craving sushi since last week. I don't know why but I think I'm addicted to it. Too much i guess.

I just felt that I need to blog a new post. Just for a sake of it. I like my blog to be constantly updated.
Let's start it with what happened to me today.

Britney's new single "Womanizer" was released today on the radio. It's a regular dance pop track. It's okay, but it is a big deal, after what Britney been through. So, I'm supporting Britney now: Buy the album on December 2! When I heard the single, I thought it's similar to other songs out there right now. I like the fact that I can feel Britney engaged to this song (unlike the Blackout's songs, although they're nice). I heard the choreography will be hot. Just wait and see.

Talking about Britney, Christina also premiered a new track earlier this month. "Keeps Gettin' Better" is also the title for her Greatest Hits album due this November. Battle of the former pop princesses, awesome. Btw, Beyonce will also releasing a new album this year. So much goin' on!

Btw, I'm a bit overwhelmed with my own life. I gotta get it together.

Peace out
D

I Got My Sidekick

Well.. technically, It was from the insurance company and I also paid a certain amount of money. But still, it's back! All I need to do is to revive my T-Mobile acc and activate the phone. Hopefully by the end of today, I'll get it right! Awesome.

Speaking of gadget, my U2 iPod got f-%&ed up. I'm tired. I'll take it to apple store someday this week. Next week. Wtv. Cuz I'm still enjoying my video ipod. LOL.

Btw, today's really a cold one. I got headache, running nose.. I'm a wreck right now. I just don't wanna deal with schools, just wanna sleep and chat (on the internet. ha)Gosh.. so many hours to kill.

Ok.. I'm out.

update: My phone is back and working!! o yeah

Not Happy

I missed another 2 classes this week, unconsciously. Dammit.
I worked hard for these two classes' assignments only to find that I missed the classes.
I'm pissed off. Big time. at myself. Not happy.
Argh.
I can't believe myself. I already skipped English 4 times in just 2 weeks! I wonder why the class starts so early at 8 am!!? I hate it.
I don't know. It's too late now. I hope I can regain my composure and clean out the mess.

Today's Quickie

I skipped two classes today! the f-ckin english 101 and pattern making class. I was sooo ill, I couldn't get up. But after some extra sleeps. I'm good. Lucky for me, I'm done with the sewing things.. and boy, sewing mechine is the hardest thing to control. Period.

At 12.50, I went to a convocation today at college.
It was about feminism.. gays and lesbians.. and racism by the biracial lesbian woman (she's half jamaican half chinese). Tough topics but funny speaker. So I enjoyed it.

I also ate southern foods from the cafeteria while attended the convocation. Quite nice. would go back for more!

After I wrote this blog, I'd be at the drawing class (which is likea therapy class to me). What makes me bummed is that my ipod is acting up. Fuckin 4th generation.
Lol.
perdon me language..

have a nice one
D

ps: last night's TOP MODEL Makeover was a big dissapointment. Whatevs.

Bathroom's Thoughts

If you read this post, it means that you read my ideas that came out when I was sitting on a toilet.
Don't be grossed out first. Um, well..

Yea. I just started thinking to make a new post after a while. It's been a week after my phone got technically stolen. Cuz, it's actually there but it was handed out to the wrong (evil) person. So. it's still on progress to claim the new one (I got insurance tho. But not really sure how it works to b honest).

Boston getting colder nowadays. I kinda miss my holidays really. The cold temp kinda indicates that the holidays are officially OVER. I don't mean that I hate school, but I just not feeling it at this time. I felt like.. I was worn out. To exhausted. I don't know why. I felt sad nowadays. I miss my lonely days. I could be myself, whatever I want, Whenever I want it.

I also kinda have a bit situation here. After 8 months being alone.. my problem is Sharing. Yea. Sharing things.. second opinions.. second thoughts. I just not use to that. I need to work on that as long as the opposite respects me. That's all I want. I don't want the I-do-it-better act or.. wtv. I just want a friend. Not parents. Two is enough.

Homeworks, hate em. Hate em, Hate em, Hate em.
I hate morning classes so bad, I just wanna curl up and die. On bed.

Aite. That's it for the day. I'll see u guys later
D

Keeps Getting Better

I'm not talking about my phone situation tho (although it's kinda going that direction). I'm talking about Christina Aguilera's new single!! LOVES it!!! haha. It's so futuristic! (Christina performed at 2008 VMAs earlier today!). Love the performance! She performed a new rendition of 'Genie In the Bottle' (think Eurythmics mix with Lady Gaga) and the new single, 'Keeps Gettin' Better' (think Kylie Minogue + Lady Gaga, again). Overall, this year's VMA is overwhelming! Christina, Rihanna, Britney's officially comeback too! :D

Awesome night!

While I'm watching VMA reruns, I'm still wondering about tomorrow; about the phone insurance, homeworks, everything. I'm friggin overwhelmed already. And I also have to be in bed, very right now!

See ya'll

Last Touch Up

I just realize that holiday is (almost) over. Starting Sept 2nd, Im officially a fashion design student. It's crazy how fast 3 months could gone. Reality is definitely kicks in. I actually hate the fact that soon I gotta be busy, although I need those business. I just love being in the holiday mood.

Btw, i'm writing this post from my new iPod touch!! So excited. Deff a dream come true. Oo and the best part is, I got this 4 free. Mom wanted to get a new MacBook air at the apple store and there's a special offer 4 students to get an iPod for free with mac computer purchases. So mom used my student ID and the rest is history.

I'm so excited that in the past 2 days, a lot of good things happen: my bro's yearbook is back on progress mode, mom cut my hair and cooked the best foods (actually she's been cooking throughout this august), and my sis got two gladiator sandals. Fierceness.

Ok I think I'm done wit the updates. Until then, I just updated the banner for my blog. I'd like to hear of from y'all

A City That Never Sleeps

Hi folks. long time no see. and no update.

Last weekends I went off to New York with mom and my sibs. I love New York (for the first time!). I've been there more than 3 times, but last trip was the first time I felt excited about NY.

We went to NY by bus (Megabus!) and we stayed at the Double Tree hotel in Times Square (I highly recommend this hotel!). The first day, we booked 4 tickets to see Legally Blonde: The Musical. As cheesy as it sounds, I kinda excited to see a broadway play (a broadway play!).. and the best part is the theatre is just next door from my hotel (literally). After the play, we dined at a japanese rest. It was sooo nice and we had the best time that nite.

The next day, we went the famous NY sightseeing (for the tourists, although I hate the fact that I was a tourist!). So.. we went to Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Liberty to name a few. It took half a day! crayzay.. and later that night we met Rani si gokil (Looove the tattoo!).

I really love new york now.. but with conditions!
LOL.

What'll Ya Have?

That's a famous catch-phrase from the old burger chain called The Varsity in here, Atlanta, Georgia.

Days after my mom arrival, me and my fam (including my sibs) headed to Atlanta to visit my aunt and her husband. My grandma is here too! and my cousin Russell. I was having the best time right here. We were catching up a whole lot (I haven't seen em all for 7 months.. So.. I was overwhelmed). My uncle, Darren took us to some nice places (Korean restaurant, the Varsity burgers and chilli hot dogs). I was thrilled!

We went to the Georgia Aquarium (which photos are deleted cuz I was f--kin clumsy). The aquarium was huge!! and I love the belugas! We also went to the Six Flags Over Georgia. It was A BLAST. Me and my brother rode those crazy roller coasters: Superman flying coaster, the standing coaster (called Georgia Scorcher) which is my ultimate favorite coaster ever!! and more.

I also tried the authentic Southern comfort foods (ribs, cornbread, etc.) and i've been waiting for that moment to come.. So I was beyond happy! :D And Mom also cooked us Hainam Chicken rice, Babi panggang merah.. tempe orek! Delish! (again! i haven't eat em for 7 months). I was in heaven!

I really wanna go back to Atl someday. Beside my aunt and my cousin are there, I'd like to visit the Six Flags.. and try the Southern Foods again!

See y'all.

The Day

Today marks the last day I'm being the loneliest guy in Boston. 'Cuz my mom and sibs are coming!! Yea!
I'm gonna pick em all at the airport this afternoon.. Soo excited.

O well.

I've been living all bymyself for 7 months now.. so I'll miss my loner times. But kinda excited cuz I'll have company. You never know what would have become if there's two heads. Things happen.

I also want to thank Rani for having me staying in New Jersey throughout this summer vacay (May, June, July.. and even August). So thank you thank you thank you.

The day has come!

some artsy shits (the 2nd one is my personal favorite. both taken by Rani)

.. and some of the nerdy shits! (LOL)

Yea. We just horsin' around. We got nothing to do.. and that's the result of ongoing boredom. Lol.

I think i'm getting narsistic lately.

Ok then, have a nice day (and hopefully enjoy the video. if u're lucky)

Almost There

It's raining. Yay! I love rain.. cuz it makes me want to sleep more. But I can't cuz I'm back to nocturnal sleep time. Dammit.
Lol. I decided to made 2 sandwiches, consists of a lite butter and choco sprinkles.

Anyway, I went out to the kitchen and I looked into the windows.. and.. I loved what I saw: The windows are wet and the skies kinda greyish. Love it. I felt like in a movie or something. Then go back here to write this post.

So. I was thinking about anything I might do next, like.. get a new scale, paying the electric bill, get an ID, wayfarer and a tattoo.
Yea. I'm going to get one. Seriously this time.. I want it so bad! hahaha.. all in the name of vanity. LOL.

Hmm.. I don't know what to do with my sleeping time. It's just a mess. I sleeps at 10 am, wakes up at 6 p.m. (5 if I'm lucky). I mean that's just f%&@#d up.

Btw.. My mom, bro and sis will come to Boston on Aug 6. Meanwhile, I'll go to New Jersey on July 25.
I'm happy. Almost.

Yearbook's Second Anniversary

July 18, 2006 was the most memorable day of my life and arguably my proudest moment. On that day, the 2006 SMU Yearbook was officially out! I was psyched! 'cause after all the late-nite works and the endless meetings, the yearbook finally became a real thing. It was a bittersweet experience.

I remembered the first idea that I brought to the yearbook staff is urban/modern contemporary, and I don't know what the hell was that. What I wanted is just a yearbook with artsy layouts and cover. At first people were like confused and had no idea what I want. It was tough.

Then.. I also wanted a conceptualized photoshoots (like CSI, Musical genres, Oldies, Executives and etc), a young and hip layouts with a touch of artsy and shits (LOL). It was a team work so, a lot of different artistic visions and stuff. But since this was my first time ever involved in such an important project (and since the previous yearbook covers were crappy), I wanted to do the cover. And I did. I envisioned this light, funky and hip cover. With lotsa color (it was like rainbow threw up on the cover) and roses and wings.. and at first I thought (the cover) was kinda gay. But I went with it anyway. (thanks to Mirna and my bro for helpin me out).

Talking 'bout the cover. The cover sorta has several meanings, for example: the wings around 'Jubilee' symbolized our departure to the future and it translated to 'Reaching for the Future' (I forgot who came out with this theme). Also, if you notice, there's 12 stars around the crown, which means we have finished 12 years of education and moving to a new level of education: college and of course the real world. There also roses symbolized that we're bloomed to a new seeds of hope. Sadly, I just made that up (and my sister's friend bought it). I'm telling the truth now: there's no real meanings on the cover.. I just loved the layout. LOL.

Today, 2 years later, I'm still proud of this yearbook. I poured my heart and soul into it. I spent months working on this and worked my ass off. Our team worked their asses off. It was all Blood, Sweat and Tears. And it was all worth the pain.

I believe, that our yearbook is set the bar for senior high school yearbook standard (in Jubilee school to say the least). I even heard that O Level kinda copied the style of our cover for their cover. Well, I haven't seen it tho. Also, last year graduate (2007) used the same direction for their layout. I think it was a compliment to us yearbook staff, that people trying to copy the artwork. That means us rock!

Since I saw the first SMP yearbook (2003), I vowed myself to design my senior class yearbook. I did and I'm glad that I joined the team. Now I can die happy. (D)

ps: hope we can recreate this photo one more time. LOLs

Changes

I was checking out my friendster and I just wanted to see the horoscope (fyi: im not a big believer in horoscope. wtv).
Here's mine:

(GEMINI): Things need to be radically changed -- but if you take your time, you can do it! You can see what needs to be fixed in your life right now, and you are starting to come to the conclusion that things need to be radically changed if you are going to get to where you want to be -- but don't get scared, get empowered! You know you need to do it, and you know how to do it -- so do it! Sure, it might take more time than you thought, and it might cause some conflict in your life. But you will feel much happier once things are the way you want them to be.

I was like, dang that was so true (and sadly, that's where I'm at). I need to change my lifestyle. immediately. otherwise it'd be very bad. I need the motivation, which I'm lack of.

Anyway, I'm still wondering how people could predict things like this. I'm still curious. Yea.. that's my post reacting to the horoscope. If you happen to see urs, please let me know ur horoscope predictions! (LOL).

Have a nice day!

What's Up?

Hi,

Just wanna update this blog. I'm getting real lazy lately.. but I get my sleeping time back! yeay. I slept around 11-12pm and woke up around 7-10am. HA!

Ok.. I'm addicted to renting movies lately. And I watched 'Vanilla Sky' and 'The Iron Giant' throughout this week. 'Vanilla Sky' (starring Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz & Penelope Cruz. what a great cast!) was a sick movie which I kinda like. Sick and twisted. While 'The Iron Giant' was an animated movie (starring Harry Connick Jr & Jennifer Aniston) that reminds me of my love to traditional animated movies. The Iron Giant is a great family movie that I highly recommended! :D

oK.. it turns out to be a looong post. Aha!
see ya guys folks! (pardon my grammar)
Miss ya guys! :D
D

ps: i removed a part of this post to avoid further troubles. peace out! :D

Hair Today, Gone Tommorow

Another hair-related post today! But that's later.

Hi! It's been a while since my last post. Ok.. I also want to update my life here! so u'll learn a lil bit of me everyday! (LOLs).
I'm now in my apt in Boston (just cleaned up the stuffs) and also I just finished my laundry! ha. I'm planning to go back to New Jersey one last time, before my mom and my sister & bro coming to Boston. (Rani, tunggu tanggal mainnya!).

Here's the 'hair' part. I just got my self a new hair cut! from a salon across my apartment. It's kinda expensive.. but I just need a haircut so bad! (I also dyed it back black~ alright!)

Anyway.. I'm so hungry and I don't feel like to gym (But i have to!). Maybe tommorow I'll go to gym. I also need to get an eye exam wtv. Bummer. Haha

See ya guys soon! :d

Phew

First off, Happy 4th of July!
I went to see the fireworks near my college, It was super beautiful. I had a blast! (Rani came to Boston!)

I just got back from New Jersey last friday. It was an exhausting day. I was in New York, the day before 4th of July. I wanted to get a 10 pm bus from NY - Boston. But hell, the line was tooooooooooo long, I couldn't get any ticket! So I decided to stayed a night at a Chinatown hotel with Rani. It was an experience. It's like a soap box (kotak sabun). We both laughed so hard.. because we'd never thought that we'd ended up like that. The next day at 6 AM, we took the first bus and arrived at Boston safe and sound!

As soon as I arrived to my apt, I gotta set up an internet connection. It was suck at first, because it was kinda confusing and frustrating! (Thanks God, the next day, after a call with a customer service, the 'net is working!).

I'm getting lazy nowadays.. I even don't have a motivation to upload a post, until now. Today I also need to pay electric bills, clean up the apartments and go to gym (the first time since last may!). Shits! haha.

Ok, folks, I'll see ya soon.
Bye!!!!!

ps: i've updated the banner, the playlist and the pix of the moment! :D

Hair, There & Everywhere

Hey there!

I changed my hair to auburn red ala Lindsay Lohan circa 2004 (fyi: this is my 15th time i dyed my hair. no kidding). Another 'Cinko' hair color. Well at least it's not as cinko as blonde. Rani picked the color for me to try.. so there.. haha. I felt more comfortable being a dark haired (black is the most comfortable). When I was a blondie, which the color is more like a gold, I always wear my hat! haha. I vowed never to go back to blond ever (unless, people pay me to get blonde). And oh! Rani 'leaked' the photo of me in blonde on Facebook. What a disgrace! LOL

Also, I really, really miss my dogs a lot.. that sometimes I imagined that they're here with me. It's sick. Haha.. ThankGod.. my sister always put their latest pictures on Flickr, which cure my yearning a lil. Here's some o the pics:

Jokker will turn 2 y.o. this November
Rockey just turn 1 y.o. last March
Duo kepo

O by the way, Happy July!
Thank you and SEE YA!

Dumb Blond

Ha! Now I'm in Jersey.. If I'm in a celebrity world, I'm so Madonna right now (always travel around).
But I came here with a mission: to help Rani moved out to her new apartment. The apartment is clean and nice! ha. I remembered when we moved the friggin heavy bed. It was HELLish. Ha.
Anyway.. I was bored yesterday..and decided to get a makeover! hair makeover that is. I decided to tried (get ready) blond! Damnit! what a biggest mistake ever! haha. I felt so cinko right now (yes, still blond).. but i have to keep this look until Rani come home and see it. After that, I'll dye my hair to another color (Rani picked an auburn color. Let see tho).
Ha! so stupid.
See ya guys 'round

Stranded In Seattle

My week plus-long holiday in Seattle was a blast. I've experience things that I never done before. It's fun!

My purpose to come visit Seattle is my friend, Nathalia. So excited when I first arrived at the airport. So surreal. Me and Nath went crazy! haha.. we took silly pictures.. crazy jokes and stuff. FUN! By the way...

Seattle is pretty. A nice neat pretty city. Friendly people too. As far as I know, Seattle has quite nice neighborhood. Comparing to my place in Boston, Seattle is like a luxury good (Well, Nath and her friends made that impression to me tho). It's good to see Nath there and meet some of here friends, who are funny and friendly too. They took me to great places to eat (Saburo's in Portland, OR, + some other great Thai, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese restaurants). I pig myself out. O yea, I also experienced drunk for the first time in my life. I drink occasionally at home.. but I can't stand the straight shots (It was disgusting). But overall, Seattle was a very fun experience.. I'm glad I booked a ticket to SEATTLE. I really will come back there.

The word Stranded on the title came literal on June 20 at 11.20PM. I Missed a flight! And I was secured a seat for the next flight at 9.00 AM via New York and arrival in Boston at 8.33 PM. I stayed awake for 9 hrs straight. It was a hell.. but I took it as part of my interesting journey. It's definitely an experience. It's been a pleasure.

Moved!

I just moved everything to my new apt 2 days ago (Jun 7) and it was a hell of a day. As much as I hate moving in to apt, I need to move as soon as possible (which is Jun 7, the due date! so were in such a rush).

We woke up at 5.50 AM and we're 'kinda' excited - think road trip, sceneries and the singing, of course. I packed my bag and stuffs. Then, off we went. We used GPS to guided us to Boston (which is fun and.. frustrating at some points). After 4 hours of heat, humidity and crazy-ass singing, we arrived at my old apt. This is the hell part. We had to moved from lamps to mattress, from books to luggage. It was insane. The temperature's 97 F was the 'icing on the cake'. I wanted to die but in the end it was worth the pains. I moved to a nice pad! :D

I gotta say thank you to Rani.. for helping me out (and not angry for my singing in the car.. and the GPS thingy). Thanks2!!! Hahaha.. Can't wait to clean the apt! haha. See ya

Bye

ps: I'm in Seattle now!!!

Going Ga Ga For Balenciaga

Ok, today I wanna dedicate this post for my favorite designer of the moment, Balenciaga. The designer is a French man named Nicolas Ghesquière. I just love the constructed designs, the unique styles and somewhat quirky; but still artistic. I adore the metallic leggings and the shoes.. darn good shoes (even Kanye put the pics on his blog!). I really love fashions from Versace to Gucci, but Balenciaga inspires me the most. So here's a little information about the fashion house.

The House of Balenciaga is one of the most influential forces in fashion. Founded in 1919 by Cristóbal Balenciaga and established in Paris from 1936, it defined many of the greatest movements in fashion from the thirties to the sixties. The provocation of its design and vision, the mastery of techniques and cuts, and the constant innovation in fabrics are factors conducive to Balenciaga’s success.

In 1995, Nicolas Ghesquière joined Balenciaga. The talent of this young creator captured the attention of both the media and customers and largely contributed to his commercial success. While the brand’s identity is firmly anchored and evoked in its highly symbolic ready-to-wear collections, the leather goods and shoe ranges have also enjoyed phenomenal success worldwide. In June 2007, Balenciaga opened a directly-operated store in Milan, its third after Paris and New York. New openings are scheduled for early 2008 in London, Los Angeles and Cannes.

So.. that's it. I've been waiting to put my favorite designer's works to my blog so.. I fulfilled it now.
See ya soon! :D

> ps: HAPPY 1st B'DAY Baby Russell! :D

Winding Down

For the last 2 days, I've been super busy to pack my stuffs and only to find that I still have things to pack. So I got really frustrated and decided to go to New Jersey, which is where I am today. Well not that frustrated actually. Besides, Rani will help me out! yeay! haha. (Thanks Ran for your help and the Jamba Juice gift card! that was niiice).

I'm so tired yesterday I went to sleep in less than 10 mins. It's all because of the sucky trip (The bus got stopped by a police, traffic jams and a lot of noiiiisy Chinese people). It's just crappy.

I actually can't wait to move out but I just wanna skip the moving part. The building is not that fancy (neither the room) but It's sure does has great amount of sun light during the day and it's clean, which is why I picked on the first place. I'll be moving in.. 2 days. Yay.

Until then,
See ya

D&G Pre Fall 08

Look at those hotness!
For me, those campaign ads for D&G remind me of Gossip Girl (TV series). I'd say, The Haute Couture Gossip Girl.

My Neck is F'd Up

Yep. F#@%!

Bingung.

Arrrgh.

Back To Boston

It's good to be back. After a week or so vacay in New Jersey, I get back to my regular life. New Jersey is cool (Highland Park & New Brunswick), but Boston rocks more (LOL). I miss the hangouts there, the bubble tea and the green tea ice cream. It was a blast. I think I might go back there in July.

I've been eating so much that I become out of shape again. So, starting tomorrow, I have to get back on the diet! (I wish I could stay in it). O yeah, today's weather is reallly hot. It's 80F (or 26C) and stupidly, I wore a hoodie. I sweat like a pig. I thought the weather would be changing (Last weekend, it was soooo damn cold, my lips and skin were very dry) but alas, it's not.

I also went out to get a juice (Tropicana Pure, Peach-Mango-Papaya is sooo good and summery), sushi and salads (for lunch) and a pack of frozen chicken (this one is for my cheat day.. or not). But it was Memorial Day and the train was so crowded. I hate crowds. Then when I got back to my apt, the internet was acting up. Urgh.

Ok then.. this entry kinda all over the place, so I beg ur pardon. Before I'm out, I wanna recommend you some of my favorite tunes!

David Cook - "Always Be My Baby" (I just can't get it out of my head)
David Archuleta - "Longer" (It's so obvious that I'm into these two Idols)
Duffy - "Mercy" & "Warwick Avenue" (She sounds like Amy Winehouse not on crack)
Mariah Carey - "Bye Bye" (Nice tune and Mariah's voice at its best)
Jesse McCartney - "Bleeding Love" (I never been a fan, but his version is good. He's the writer. ps: we used to laugh at Justin Timberlake)

What's Cookin'?

So glad that David Cook won the Idol crown. He deserves it. Although David Archuleta has charming voice and look (plus charming personality), he still green to be an idol. Actually I put them records into my own test. While I was on my way to New York, I listened to both Davids' Mariah Carey week songs. I listened to Cook's "Always Be My Baby". His rendition is the best ever. I've never been a big fan of idol until this song came out. He took Mariah's classic song into a whole new level. I'm so impressed with his deep raspy voice (a la Daughtry). Overall he gave it a really cool twist on the song. Then, I listened to Archuleta's rendition of "When You Believe". He gave me chills the entire time of the song. His voice is pure, classic and innocent. But comparing these two, is kinda hard. Because each Davis has his own uniqueness. Anyway, these Davids are my favorite of the season.

Ok then, enough on the idol, let's get back to life. Food life that is. Yesterday I went to Qdoba, a Mexican restaurant. As I mentioned before, I'm having an affair with buritto. I just can't help it. Anyway, the buritto there was superb. The restaurant is similar to Chipotle, but unlike Chipotle, Qdoba offers more traditional atmosphere. Then, we went to a little gourmet shop near downtown. We both picked a slice of cake; Rani picked prada chocolate cake and I, golden canolli cake. Despite the fancy names, it doesn't taste as fancy as it sounds. The cake looks good though. But before we headed home, Rani picked a pint of Ciao Bella green tea gelato with white chocolate chunks. It tastes delish! Yesterday we had great foods overall and those restaurants are in New Jersey! (I haven't get a chance to go back to NY)

That's my culinary journey so far. Be sure to check it out next time.
Au revoir

Cravings

I really put a serious thoughts of what I would eat lately. No, not the healthy diet foods or whatever (which is sooo sad in a way), but it's about my cravings. Since last month, I became a fan of Mexican food (esp. Buritto). I totally still craving the food. I also crazy about Pad Thai (here in New Jersey), served with turnip cake. So Good. The foods are so fabulous, I decided to spend the last three days in New Jersey with Rani. I supposedly visiting New York, but I wanna explore the foods here. I also tried candy corn for the first time, Carvel ice cream shake and more. The foods makes me stay.

I wanna share some review my favorite tunes for the last couple of days.

I highly recommend you to listen to Jason Mraz's last record, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. It's so good; the music is combination of big band, acoustic and soul. One of the songs, It sounds like orchestra met casual acoustic. I don't know the right term but it sounds beautiful. Download: "Make It Mine", "A Beautiful Mess", "I'm Yours" & "Lucky"

I also listened to several albums, like Mariah's E=MC2, Madonna's Hard Candy and Usher's Here I Stand.
Those albums really stand out for me in 2008. Be sure check 'em out.

See ya on the next entry.
Bye guys.. D

Foods Of Big Apple

Yesterday we (me & Rani) went to NYC to spend the day. We went for a culinary trip yesterday. It was so fulfilling literally.

The first thing after we touched down (from the bumpy NJ Transit trip), we headed to Thai restaurant food. We ordered pad thai (shrimp for me, veggie for her). The name of the restaurant is Bangkok House. The place is kind of small eatery and it was cozy. I loved it. Then, after that we went on to 58th St. 9th Ave to found this miles long of festival. I think it was a big food bazaar. I ended up bought a monstrous turkey leg, fried OREOs (yep, that OREO cookies) and candy grapes (instead of candy apple). I couldn't help it but wanted more although I was terribly full. Then we went to Century 21 for an impromptu shopping sprees (ha, i only bought a shirt and rani bought a cool fedora). To end the night, we went to Lime Jungle restaurant for burittos. I officially the big fan of buritto.

Ok.. so that's my culinary trip for a day. I'll keep u posted! aite?? Byeee

Hard Time

Today, is not a great day for me. It started with a chat with Mom.. discussing about apartment, and stuffs, led to a little conversation with my sister and she said something that kinda irritated me. Before I knew it, I flipped out. I went online to chat with my Mom.. and all of a sudden, this burst of emotion (anger) threw out of my mind. I was upset of her bla bla.. I always held back my feelings bla bla.. and so on.

Then, all things went downhill soon after. I felt so guilty to my sister and mom because of my reaction and I just broke down. Perhaps it's the emotions that I've been holding inside for 5 months. I felt stupid and relentless towards my sister and sometimes my mom. I haven't been this emotional since I came here to Boston. I'm still a little bit overwhelmed with this whole situation of being here, by myself, away from my loved ones. I felt so wrong.

Despite that I'm happy and try to be relatable to others, I actually don't know who I am. It's hard. I've always have a low self esteem. It's not easy to admit it (especially, in a journal like this), but I decided to open myself more and try to accept myself, while I'm working on my attitude and confidence. I don't wanna make people feel sorry for me or anything, but the intention of writing this post is just to let my feelings out, so I could feel better.

It's really hard for me to be cheer-y right now but, hope u guys have a good day!
see ya

I Dream Of Top Models

I had such a weird dreams recently. I dreamt about Indonesian ghosts, unfortunate events in college and a very recent one, top models. I dreamt about two top models that I really fond of nowadays; Raquel Zimmermann and Caroline Trentini, respectively. (See the picture above!). In my dream, I was playing tennis against them. They're in full editorial make up and clothes. Then, moved to my old house, when I found both of em were in my sister's closet chewing on gums and playing with it. I know, it's confusing. LOL.

O yeah, I just found out the winner of America's Next Top Model Cycle 10! the full figured model, Whitney! She's the first plus-size model to win the title in history of the show. That's quite an accomplishment. I always like her since the beginning, but I think I prefer Anya to win the competition. But overall, this cycle is the best so far. This cycle gave us varieties of look that interesting and also, the photoshoots! (some of em were borrowed the ideas, straight from VOGUE). Here's the photo of the three finalists: (from left to right) Fatima, Whitney and Anya.

What do you guys think? Is Whitney deserves to win?
